ABOUT THE SHOW

Chroma Zone, St. Paul’s and Minnesota’s first and largest public mural festival, is a celebration of the artistry, commerce, and community found within the Creative Enterprise Zone (CEZ). The CEZ is located mid-city, between downtown St. Paul and Minneapolis, and is home to over 300 studios and creative/maker places of work.

The Chroma Zone festival spotlights the creation of twelve large outdoor murals by local, national, and international artists over the span of eight days. With Chroma Zone, the CEZ joins an exciting, growing global movement around modern muralism and mural festivals like “Crush Walls” in Denver, “Pow! Wow!” Hawaii, and the “MURAL Festival” in Montreal.

Artists for Chroma Zone were invited to apply through an open call, promoted nationally, and the result was the selection of 12 professional artists/teams who reflect a mix of local, regional and international talent.

We are pleased to let you know that eight of the 12 Chroma Zone artists/teams will be displaying their smaller scale work at NewStudio Gallery. For more about participating artists see the Chroma Zone site.
