Once the town’s main firehouse, this structure’s 1920s charm had been lost to decades of “modernization.” NewStudio worked with Anthropologie & Co. to bring back the building’s character in a brand-inspired 2,600 sf upscale casual restaurant, as part of the company’s revival of the historic Bedford Square complex. Today, tall custom folding window-walls in the original firehouse door openings create an almost al fresco dining experience. Whitewashed exposed brick and monochromatic hexagon floor tiles complement the warm tones in the butcher-block tabletops. The fresh and breezy ambiance celebrates its distinguished past.
