Celina Nelson | Architect
Celina came into architecture not through some great revelation, but though puzzling together small pieces of her life. She saw how her personality and interests would find its niche in the architecture field. “I’m especially detail oriented,” she says. “As strange as it might sound to some, I enjoy construction administration and building code compliance.” She also prefers to be on the jobsite and working with contractors. “That’s where I feel like my best architect self,” she adds.
Celina’s professional background includes several multifamily apartment projects. “I wanted to build expertise in one project type before exploring another,” she explains. At NewStudio, she’s furthering her knowledge of architecture by concentrating on office building project types.
“I’m easy-going and collaborative—I’m excited to build buildings and relationships.”
What Most People Don’t Know About Me: I am a West Coast Swing dancer and a professional WCS deejay.
When I’m Not At NewStudio, I’m: consuming art (reading, attending theater, seeing concerts, watching movies, etc.)
Favorite Office Supply: Sweet Tangerine Positive Energy Tea. I drink at LEAST two cups a day.
Best Movie I’ve Seen: How To Train Your Dragon: outstanding music, multifaceted characters, and uplifting themes. I’ve watched it too many times to count and have listened to the soundtrack even more. There’s something to be said about a soundtrack that can recall each scene to mind and play the movie in your head.
