Riley Houlihan | Architectural Drafter
“If I’m not at NewStudio, I’m outdoors,” Riley says. He enjoys sharing his passion with others, including serving on the staff at KODA (Kids of Deaf Adults) Camp Midwest in Deforest, Wisconsin.
He bridges his deep appreciation for nature with a strong interest in designing healthy and livable urban spaces. “I want to help increase accessibility to and equality within architecture and urban design,” he says, as he prepares to extend his education this fall with a master’s degree in architecture.
Riley credits “Design in Sicily,” a study-abroad program he completed, as one of the significant experiences of his undergraduate years. He’s looking forward to applying both his theoretical and hands-on learning to real-world challenges. “My goal is to work with communities to develop design solutions rooted in the assets and opportunities of people and place,” he adds.
At NewStudio, he’s able to collaborate on projects that offer insights to the design process, practicing his drafting skills on remodeling retail, commercial, and private homes.
