Lucas Tarr | Survey Technician

Working at NewStudio has allowed Lucas to pivot from his training in graphic design to using more site-focused computer programs. “I am hugely interested in anything tech related,” he explains. “This position allows me to showcase that I can transfer and adapt my visualization skills—it’s amazing to have such a supportive environment here for learning.”

Lucas trusts his “can-do attitude” in trying new things, a well-tested attribute during his service as a United States Marine Reservist. “I helped build runways and even supported a big air show, which is nothing near my graphic design work,” he says. “I just keep at whatever it is that I want to accomplish. It’s also good that I get along well with people, if I run into questions. At NewStudio, I’m surrounded by a smart and friendly crew, including my wife, Devyn Smoter.”

Prior to joining NewStudio, he had accompanied Devyn to several office gatherings where he met many of the staff members. “It blows my mind that I landed the position that I found to be the most interesting. How cool is that?”

When I’m Not At NewStudio, I’m: gaming, hiking, spending time with my beautiful wife, or playing with our two dogs.
